4-H membership is open to any
youth in a County area, regardless of race, color, creed, sex, national
origin or disabled condition, who is 5 through 18 years of age, as of
January 1, of the current year, when the ball drops on New Year’s Eve.
Club Membership
(Traditional)
For individuals 8 - 18
years old who are interested in year-round organized 4-H Club
participation. Youth ages 5-7 can participate in the Cloverbuds
Discovery program through the 4-H Club structure (see below).
Member Age Groups
Members are divided into
several age groups to provide a learning experience with youth of their
own age, abilities and interests.
Primary Members
are youth from 5-7 years
old.
Junior Members
are youth from 8 - 13 years old
or 8-10 (w/o intermediate group)
Intermediate Members
are youth from 11-13 years
old.
Senior Members
are youth from 14 - 18 years old.
Cloverbuds
The Cloverbuds program is
open to youngsters 5 through 7 years of age. They may be involved
in a traditional club or their parents may sign up as their leaders. The
program is noncompetitive and members are not to be involved with
livestock or other animals.
